I got my B.S.!!!

Yes, it's my Bachelor of Science degree, not Bull Sh** degree! I just finished all the requirements/credits for my bachelor's degree. I now have my B.S. of Information Technology from Franklin University. I will be working on my Graduate (Master's) degree in Information Security next.

Oh, and for those of you concerned about GPA, I did actually graduate with a 3.0! I know, it's crazy to hear that from me, the king of, " 'C' is just fine...". Anyway, I'm pretty proud of myself and glad to have it over with.

I apologize to my students who I have pushed off to the side this last semester (Fall 2005). I had my plate full with 19 undergraduate credits and a full teaching load. I didn't give my students the attention they deserved and feel bad about it. I will focus on them more this next semester, I promise!

If any of you are interested in getting your B.S. degree, please contact me with questions, I would love to help you reach your goal - YOU CAN DO IT; I did!

For Bid

For Bid
One brother for bid!
One brother for bid!
One screaming and weeping brother for bid!
I`m not jolking folks.
Do I hear a penny?
a nickel?
maybe a dollar?
won`t anyone anyone buy this brother for bid?!

Podcasting

OK, bare with me, I'm playing around with podcasting... it's really pretty neat. I'm working on a method for my college to podcast all of the class lectures. This will give students a chance to review before a test and also help those who missed class. I plan on using Loudblog, a guy, named Gerrit just starting building a template that uses a database and allows users to publish ther podcasts (.mp3 files) via a webpage. It's actually pretty nice. I have setup my own on my server here (www.holverson.org/podcast) and if you want to try it's interface out, let me know what you think. You can subscibe to the podcast with an RSS client/Podcast Receiver. I suggest using iPodder (I guess they call it Juice now).

You can actually listen to the podcast without actually downloading it to your computer first, this uses a little flash player right within the description of the podcast.

Let me know what you think about the interface and how it works. (if you want to see a site that is actually working, checkout my web server at school that I'm using to test with: http://www.ncstech.org/podcast/it

CD's, DVD's, Oh, my! (CRAP!!!)

I don't know about you, but I'm begining to hate CD's and DVD's! We have so many of them we are loosing track of them. The issue is all of those portable DVD and CD players... they scatter the DVD's - OH and kids don't help either, leving them all over the place. They leave them where ever they last were. We are currently storing all of our DVD's in old suitcases (antique kind) on the floor of our living room.

Just last night, we went to open Chevy Chase's Christmas Vacation DVD and guess what, NO DVD was in the case. We spent over an hour looking all over the house and found a bunch of DVD's out of their cases and empty cases, but NO Christmas Vacation! ERRRRR! (I seem to like using 'ERRRR' lateley...). We still can't find it. I'm sure it didn't help much that we were all over the place traveling last Christmas and since the kids have a portable DVD palyer they wanted to take this along. Maybe it's in the back of the car somewhere????

I guess you'll be seeing me on eBay or Amazon looking for a new DVD of Chirstmas Vacation...

That's all the RANT I have, have a nice day!
