CD's, DVD's, Oh, my! (CRAP!!!)
I don't know about you, but I'm begining to hate CD's and DVD's! We have so many of them we are loosing track of them. The issue is all of those portable DVD and CD players... they scatter the DVD's - OH and kids don't help either, leving them all over the place. They leave them where ever they last were. We are currently storing all of our DVD's in old suitcases (antique kind) on the floor of our living room.
Just last night, we went to open Chevy Chase's Christmas Vacation DVD and guess what, NO DVD was in the case. We spent over an hour looking all over the house and found a bunch of DVD's out of their cases and empty cases, but NO Christmas Vacation! ERRRRR! (I seem to like using 'ERRRR' lateley...). We still can't find it. I'm sure it didn't help much that we were all over the place traveling last Christmas and since the kids have a portable DVD palyer they wanted to take this along. Maybe it's in the back of the car somewhere????
I guess you'll be seeing me on eBay or Amazon looking for a new DVD of Chirstmas Vacation...
That's all the RANT I have, have a nice day!

Oh, give it a day or two and you'll settle down and it will appear. Or you'll remember where you or the kids left it. Been there, done that.
Breath .. 1.. 2 .. 3 Breath
This is great!
**An update**
One of my students (Al S.) read my post and handed me "my backup copy" that I supposedly gave him a while back. I'm so glad I made a backup copy of this movie, we love to watch it very much.

Actually, a day before I was able to retrieve my backup copy (thanks Al), Dede just bought another one. So we now have two copies, we will be sure not to loose it again!
I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be commenting on, but I just happened upon this website and wanted to tell you that I'm Aaron Holverson from Wisconsin too! haha:)
the "other" Aaron Holverson
Well, what's your email address "Other" Aaron? Send me an email and let me know... aaron @ holverson.org
I thought I should first tell you how I found you, then tell you how I organize my CD/DVDs. I found you on a site that had your podcasts (could have beens yours, its been a while). I am going after my CCNA and needed extra help. I love those podcasts, thanks.
I use Roxio Toast which comes with a program called Catalog Maker. It is a database of all discs you have it scan. Takes seconds to scan the contents and then keeps a record of the directory. I number mine with a quick description. Like this: 4 Apps 10-20-08. Or 13 Mac Pro backup 9-1-09. I keep the discs in numerical order. When I need something, I open Catalog Maker and search for hte item. It tells me what disc it is on.
The Roxio set is really a suite of apps as well. Toast burns image (ISO) files which is nice.
